just as our islanders welcome you with “Bon Bini” when arriving, I welcome you to my second blog post I wrote for our Curaçao Tourism Board about the absolute best and most romantic to do’s and places to stay at when visiting our “Dushi Korsou”. It’s the high we all seek but eventually wears off. Just like continuous investing time and effort in a friendship this is also important when it comes to maintaining a relationship. Whether its puppy love, a long-term relationship or marriage. It’s a good thing our island has exactly what you need. From exploring the many facets Curaçao has to offer to escaping to your love cocoon at the accommodation of your choice and ordering room service. If you are looking for a location a bit more downtown so you can explore the bustling area on foot and learn about the island’s rich history and cultural background, gawk at the stunning street art spread out all over Punda and Otrobanda or visit the many art galleries, buy fresh fruit at the local markets and enjoy some of the most amazing restaurants in the area, than these are the top ones to consider.

The Most Beautiful Beaches

Below mentioned bounty beaches are the ones you see in magazines. I’m talking crystal clear water, tropical fishes of every color, powdery white sand where your feet sink into and palm trees rustling in the wind. When it comes to most of these beaches, the early bird gets the worm. Which basically translates to, “get there early" if you want to secure the best spot AND some shade. Between 12 noon and 3:00 pm the sun is brutal as we are very close to the equator. Drink your water, bring a hat and plenty of sunscreen. 

Cas Abao Beach
Cas About Beach is a full service (paid) beach with secured ample parking located on the southwest coast of Curaçao, ideal for swimmers of all ages and a true paradise for snorkelers and scuba divers.

Groot Knip 
Groot Knip is one of the largest public beaches at Westpunt and also the most popular one with it’s amazing aqua blue water and white powdery sand. There is a large secured free parking area. The beach doesn’t offer a lot of facilities, except for a small beach bar that offers drinks and a simple meal as well as a restroom and shower.  But at the parking area you can often buy local sweets and savory snacks as well as fresh fruit shakes at the food truck. 

Blue Bay
Blue Bay is a large well shaded (paid) beach near Sint Michiel and popular because of the soft white sand and the sea floor that gently slopes from the beach making it more accessible for all ages. Landhuis Blaauw z/n.

Cabana Beach
Cabana Beach Curacao is a beautiful large (paid) beach located at Bapor Kibra Z/N, Seaquarium Beach and shares the same entrance as Mood Beach. With it’s turquoise waters, swaying palm trees, a trendy restaurant, a boutique shop and a variety of sun beds to choose from, it’s the perfect spot to chill and enjoy your day. Karakter Curacao
Located at Coral Estate Luxury Resort, Karakter Curacao and beach is well worth your visit. You’ll have to enter the resort from the visitors side at the main entrance in order to get access to the beach. The entrance to the beach is free. While Karakter doesn’t have a large beach, it makes up for the stunning view and the food. They also have an on site dive shop as well as other amenities at the entrance of Coral Estate. Papagayo  Beach Resort
Enjoy a relaxing day at Papagayo Beach, which is located in Jan Thiel. Enjoy your beach day from the comfort of their luxurious VIP bed cabanas that include a large bottle of water, a mid morning fruit bowl and afternoon snack or opt for one of their nice sun loungers.
