This landhouse, restored in 1996, is almost opposite to Landhuis Ascension on the road to Westpunt. Plantation Dokterstuin was already in use In the 17th century. The landhouse was probably built at the end of the 18th century. In the second half of the 19th century it was owned by the government, which leased small plots of land to former slaves. This way they hoped to encourage the development of agriculture. There's a Creole restaurant now.
