Rich in culture and heritage, the southern Caribbean gem of Curaçao is covered with so many significant and historic things to see. The island's capital city, Willemstad, is an amazing starting point made up of four districts that include Punda, Otrobranda, Pietermaai, and Scharloo—each of which have their own personality and flair.
Apart from being a highlight on the island for visitors and locals alike, Willemstad also has the prestigious distinction of being a UNESCO World Heritage site. Since 1997, the colorful community has been one of only five capital cities in the Caribbean to make it on this list.
With over 700+ historical protected buildings and more architectural styles than any other world heritage city in the region, the area boasts an incredible experience rooted in the island's historic journey.
