Are there any cultural norms I should be aware of?
Being so close to South America and so heavily influenced by North America and Europe, the norms are best described as international. The people in Curaçao are laid back, welcoming and accepting, so you shouldn't have any issue fitting in.
There is one local tradition that can be disconcerting to especially North American visitors. Between mid-November and early December we celebrate Sinterklaas in Curaçao. The tradition, originally from The Netherlands, is similar to modern Christmas with an older father figure (Sinterklaas) who, together with his helpers (Petes), brings presents for the children. The Petes are people of all colors and part of their costume is that they blacken their faces. This looks a lot like the old American theater custom of blackface, so our American visitors should be aware that this doesn't have the same connotations in Curaçao as in the US.
